Here's the Midnight Press Conference, and I want you to notice that Oswald said that police had said nothing to him about his having killed the President. He said he only knew about it from what reporters said to him in the hall. Imagine: this was 10 hours after he was brought to the PD, and police didn't say a word to him about his being suspected of killing Kennedy? How could the police not have asked him about that? And, neither did they tell him anything about it, and we know that because he said they didn't, and we have no reason to think he was lying.  His exact words were: "Nobody has told me anything." Well, if nobody told him anything about it, then I think we can be pretty sure that he didn't tell them anything about it.

But, then it gets weird. Oswald says that he hasn't been charged with killing the President. Then a reporter points out to him that he has been charged with that. Then, Oswald looks genuinely surprised and bewildered. Listen to the exchange, and look at Oswald's face when he finds out that he's been charged with killing Kennedy. He's shocked. He didn't know.

But, if he was an under-cover agent who had infiltrated the plot and knew all about it, as Hooke alleges, then how could he go 10 hours without spilling his guts to police? Why would he lie to them? Why would he mislead them? What was he waiting for to be truthful? There were two FBI agents present, so if he had tipped off the FBI about the assassination, wouldn't he have pointed that out to them?  If he was unwilling to tell the Dallas Police and the FBI about his true role in the plot, who was he going to tell? And when?

Oswald wasn't an actor, and there is no reason to think he was acting there. He looks bewildered because he was bewildered. He said he didn't know anything because he didn't know anything. He said nothing to police about being an under-cover agent because he was not an under-cover agent. He was no James Bond. He was just a patsy- just as he said.
